Jake Brooks serves clients in Sheridan, Buffalo, Gillette and across Wyoming.

Brooks Law Firm provides civil, non-litigation and juvenile court legal services. Jake Brooks’ practice focuses primarily on estate planning and administration, guardianships and conservatorships, adoptions, business and corporate law, real estate, personal bankruptcy, transactional and juvenile court work.

Attorney Jake Brooks has been practicing law in Wyoming since 2005.   Jake grew up in Buffalo, Wyoming, and was a 1997 graduate of Buffalo High School.  Following high school, Jake earned a bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, in English, with a minor in history, from Chadron State College.   Jake then attended the University of Wyoming College of Law where he graduated with honors in 2005.  While in law school, Jake was a comment editor for the Wyoming Law Review, participated in the school’s legal services clinic, and served as a teaching assistant for legal writing and appellate advocacy.  Previously, Jake worked with large law firms in Sheridan and Cheyenne, gaining experience in a wide range of practice areas and in handling complex legal matters and transactions.

Jake frequently presents on estate planning issues to community groups, attorneys, and financial professionals, and has written on the topic of technology and estate planning.
In addition to his private civil practice, Jake also works in the juvenile court system in Johnson and Sheridan Counties, representing indigent or low-income parents who are involved in juvenile court cases.  Jake also has served as a guardian ad litem in juvenile court cases, representing the best interests of children who are the victims of abuse or neglect, and serves as guardian and conservator for people in Johnson and Sheridan counties.
